Abstract

In February 1988 I sent round a questionnaire on 'Frisian and its standard’; of which this study presents the results. The questionnaire was sent to all the Frisian literary authors and AFUK-teachers (Algemiene Fryske Underrjocht Kommisje = General Frisian Education Board). I asked 54 questions, of which 47 have been worked out for this article. The number of respondents is 144 out of a total of 263.
Chapter 1. ('Introduction') provides data about the respondents (1.1.), the reasons for choosing literary authors and AFUK teachers (1.2.), information about the questionnaire (1.3.) and the tables used in Chapter 2. (1.4.).
Chapter 2. gives a survey of the major results and closes with a lengthy summary.
In Chapter 3. I draw up a number of desiderata for further research in the present field.
In 'Taheakke I' the questions are listed. 'Taheakke II is an elucidation of these questions.
