About the Journal

The Philosophy of the City Journal (POTCJ) is an open access and peer-reviewed journal that takes the city as an object of philosophical study, focusing on its political, social, epistemological, metaphysical, ethical, and environmental dimensions.

We invite philosophical contributions from scholars from all relevant disciplines. In addition to philosophy, these disciplines include but are not restricted to: urban design and planning, geography, political science, sociology, science and technology studies, design history and theory, and architecture history and theory.

All papers published in POTCJ are indexed with CrossRef and assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). All of our metadata is openly available for harvesting by indexing services through the OAI-PMH metadata protocol.

POTCJ is published bi-annually (including special issues), and welcomes proposals for possible special issues at any time. POTCJ is published by University of Groningen Press, and is the official journal of the Philosophy of the City Research Group.
