Abstract

This article looks at two depictions of women on screen and stage, respectively: Paola Cortellesi’s C’è Ancora Domani (There’s still tomorrow, 2023) and William Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra (1607). It discusses how women are portrayed in this media, as well as how this relates to the secondary school education curriculum in Northern Ireland. It also links these depictions with
developments in contemporary feminist historiography, noting how women have traditionally been excluded from mainstream historiographical narratives, and expresses hope for the future of historiography.
