Samenvatting

This article examines nineteenth- and twentieth-century supersessionist interpretations of First Peter, since such readings of the letter are increasingly regarded as debatable. In light of a recent, explicitly non-supersessionist reading of First Peter by Kelly D. Liebengood, I propose a modification of these interpretations, with the aim of moving beyond the hermeneutical framework of supersessionism altogether.
