This article provides remarks from the perspective of a biblical scholar regarding the internal
debate on the proper definition of Reformed practical theology addressed by the scholars elsewhere in this volume. Based on research I carried out several years on the content, the historical and theological background of Psalm 91, reflections are provided on the methodological issues and a comparison between the field of biblical studies and the field of practical theology is undertaken.
