Samenvatting
Biblical preaching is a hermeneutical dialogue between the text of Scripture and the worldviews of the preacher and his listeners. There is no preaching without interpretation. In this article, the recent developments regarding hermeneutics and its relation to homiletics are questioned. Special attention is paid to the frames of understanding a preacher can bring to the interpretation of a text and to five possible homiletical-hermeneutical modes that can be assumed thereby. This leads to a broader and more critical exposition of four homiletical-hermeneutical approaches a preacher can follow.
