Theologie met ruggengraat. Karl Barths erfenis vandaag – een overzicht

Samenvatting

This article gives an overview of the state of affairs regarding the theological heritage of
Barth’s theology in Germany, the Netherlands, England and the USA. It turns out that
the reception of Barth’s theology differs considerably from place to place, as it depends
upon contextual, cultural and theological circumstances. For example, at one place his
thinking is seen as a cultural response to the problem of modernity, at another place it
provides the framework for a robust protestant theology. In general, Barths reinterpretation
of the Reformed heritage seems to have influenced the structure of contemporary
Reformed theology substantially.
