De dynamiek in de status van Jezus Christus

Samenvatting

An abstract rendering of the concrete and historical reality of the mystery “God revealed
in the flesh” undermines the wonder of the incarnation. Any theological exploration
of Jesus Christ is open to the danger of a dualism that treats Jesus as “man” and
Jesus as “God,” if it fails to view Jesus’ life and work as an interwoven “God-story” and
“man-story.” The Christology of John Owen (1616-1683) offers a useful pneumatology
for an ongoing consideration of the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. This article offers a
brief assessment of Owen’s pneumatological contribution which, along with biblical
references, leads to the conclusion that a Son Christology is the best relational
Christology in which the pneumatological element expresses the dynamic relationship
of the God-man Jesus Christ.
