Uitdagingen en perspectieven voor het functioneren van voorgangers
Samenvatting
This article examines several components of the exercise of the tasks traditionally assigned
to ministers of the Word, which are now being realized in a postmodern context. The components examined arise from the general view that the churches provide diminishing
support for the exercise of authority, a reality which creates challenges and opportunities. This essay discusses the following components of the task of minister of the Word: proclaiming the Word, cooperation in leadership, encountering God in worship, leading the church in diversity and unity, communicating effectively in a noisy society, being convincing personally and spiritually, offering individual pastoral care, and existential worship around Word and Sacrament.
