‘Want deze God is onze God’? Systematisch-theologische perspectieven op God en geweld
Samenvatting
While the author supports (with some nuances) Jaap Dekker’s approach of danger that comes from God as serving a higher end in salvation history, he proposes three additional lines: (1) danger and risk are not alien to God, since He truly engages in history; (2) the doctrine of the Trinity helps to understand that in Christ, God Himself has faced the greatest danger and has prevailed; (3) an eschatological perspective shows that the greatest threat for humans lies in God’s ultimate judgment, which however cannot be abstracted from what God has done in Christ.
