Andrew J.M. Irving

Andrew J. M. Irvingis Assistant Professor of Religion and Cultural Heritage at the University of Groningen. Having trained in both liturgical studies and medieval studies at the University of Notre Dame, his research focuses on material approaches to medieval liturgy, especially liturgical manuscripts. His interest in material culture theory also informs his approach to critical heritage studies as coordinator of Groningen’s MA in Heritage and Religion, and member of the Centre for Religion and Heritage.

Janieke Bruin-Mollenhorst

Janieke Bruin-Mollenhorst is Academic Coordinator of the Institute for Ritual and Liturgical Studies. She holds a PhD in Cultural Studies and mainly studies the ways people in the Netherlands deal with death. In addition, she has worked as a professional musician.
