In an increasing number of European countries new hymnbooks for liturgical use are being prepared or have recently been published. In the same rime ‘Rome’ has ordered the preparation of a directorium seu repertorium of liturgical songs. How can the latter be understood in comparison with the first? In the Netherlands one speaks of a ‘graduate’ of liturgical songs. This article discusses the blessings and disadvantages of such a repertorium.
