The infamous and hyper-masculine sexploitation genre, a form of lower-budget films, was hugely known in the 1960s and 1970s for its erotic and subordinate portrayal of women. This article uses the feminist sexploitation film The Working Girls (1974) to illustrate how Stephanie Rothman, as one of the few female directors, was still able to incorporate feminist messages into the patriarchal film industry of the 1970s.Gepubliceerd
