Author Guidelines

Time & Time Perception: Reviews accepts only Review articles.

Ethical and Legal Conditions

Submission of a manuscript for publication implies the following:

  1. All authors are in agreement about the content of the manuscript and its submission to Time & Time Perception: Reviews.
  2. The contents of the manuscript have been tacitly or explicitly approved by the responsible ethical authorities where the research was carried out.
  3. The manuscript has not been published previously, in part or in whole, in English or any other language, except as an abstract, part of a published lecture, conference presentation or academic thesis.
  4. The manuscript has not and will not be submitted to any other journal while still under consideration for Time & Time Perception: Reviews.
  5. If the manuscript includes figures, tables, or large sections of text that have been published previously, the author has to obtain written permission from the original copyright owner(s) to reproduce these items.

File Formats

Most popular formats are allowed for the initial submission, as long as an editable source file (e.g., Word) is included. Figures must be in digital format. Please refer to ‘Figures’ (see below) for more detailed instructions.

Language

Manuscripts should be written in English. Spelling (British or American) should be consistent throughout. As no language editing facilities are provided by the journal, the author should ensure that the submitted manuscript is publication ready.

Length

There is no limitation in terms of the manuscript’s length.

Format

Contributions should follow the Time & Time Perception: Reviews template, which can be downloaded here soon. Please delete the content from this template, insert your manuscript, and format all elements of your manuscript (i.e., headings, authors names, body text, figure captions, etc.) using the styles that come with the template (more details are provided in the template).

Title Page

The first page of an article should contain the title of the paper, the name(s) and address(es) of the author(s), a short title (not exceeding 50 characters, spaces included), and the name, e-mail address, and postal address of the author to whom correspondence and proofs should be sent.

References

Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). References cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications can be used in the text and if included in the reference list they should follow the APA reference style (see below) and include a substitution of the publication date with either 'Unpublished results' or 'Personal communication'. Citation of a reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication.

Journal names should be abbreviated using the PubMed abbreviations.

Citations in the text should follow the referencing style used by the APA, with the exception that the immediate use of et al. is allowed, without the need for first listing all authors. References should be arranged alphabetically and, if necessary, sorted chronologically. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication.

For more details refer to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Sixth Edition, ISBN 978-1-4338-0561-5.

Figures and Tables

References to tables should consist of the complete word, first letter capital (also in the middle of a sentence or in brackets) + number in Arabic numerals: Table 7 or (Table 7).

References to figures should consist of the complete word only at the beginning of a sentence and in the figure captions; otherwise the abbreviations “Fig.” or “Figs.” are used.

Tables should be kept as simple as possible with at least 3 horizontal lines and additional lines if appropriate, data ordered in a convenient way. The title should give all details that are needed to understand the table except obvious footnotes.

Figures should be submitted as separate source files in .pdf, .eps, .tif, or .png format, in a size suitable for the typesetting area of the journal. Vector formats are preferred. The resolution of bitmap files should be at least 300 dpi.

Figures and Tables should be included in the manuscript file at the appropriate location in the text (instead at the end of the manuscript).

Captions should be attached to the figures/tables.
