Marginaal: Het nationale forum

Samenvatting

Noting that postgraduate research institutes & grant distributors in the Netherlands often assign more value to publications in international (Anglo American) journals than to Dutch titles, the importance of the existence of a national forum of scientific research evaluation is discussed. It is asserted that, even in an era of globalization, a forum for the discussion of national issues & specific national problems & their solutions is pertinent. Moreover, it is argued that Dutch publication in international journals further fragments knowledge about national issues, thus complicating retrievability & accessibility for an overwhelming majority of practicing researchers who are not affiliated with universities or advanced research institutes. Reevaluation of the national forum & the importance of international publication standards is therefore deemed imperative. 4 References. S. Paul
