Samenvatting

Current opinion on reports of sociologists is, that they may only give alternatives for policies. It is up to the policy makers to choose between them. As a result, reports more and more tend to analyze socio-psychol'ly the mentality of social groups. Policymakers on the other hand are very much inclined to accept policies which may lead to changes in mentality. This evolution is due to a growing consciousness of cultural lag. To remove this lag is one of the most important tasks of social research. The sociologist has to accept this responsibility.
