Samenvatting

The study of anti-social behavior has become an important problem in Dutch social science. These studies, however, give rise to various questions. What constitutes socially accepted behavior and what deviations are one going to call anti-social? One can not just take the general concept 'anti-social' and leave it at that. On the other hand one cannot define values oneself. The problem with ethical and metaphysical standards is that they only indirectly influence society. There are also local differences as to standards of good manners. Perhaps statistical norms may solve part of this problem. Besides, there is not only a horizontal differentiation of standards, but a vertical one as well. L. Turksma.
