A presentation of 3 models of social stratification and mobility. This type of research is still relatively new and undeveloped in the Netherlands; but it will undoubtedly grow since there is a growing interest in these problems. 3 schemas of research are outlined and offered as stimuli to further res: (1) a survey of whether certain pop's have risen above or fallen below the social or class level of their parents and grandparents; (2) a study of whether the relative rankings of professional or social standings have remained the same or have changed; (3) an examination of upward or downward mobility within a given profession.
