Samenvatting

A study program in sociology is presented which was prepared by the Assoc. of sociology Students of the University of Utrecht and offered to a study commission to pass on to the Council of the University Institute of Sociology for its consideration in May 1963. The basic aims of the proposal are to shorten the study period from 7 to 5 years and to raise the quality of the education. The proposal presents a program in major areas (sociology and social psychology) and minor areas, methodological considerations, and a division into 3 stages, ending with a propadeutic examination after the first year, a candidate's examination after the 3rd year, and a doctoral examination after the 5th year.
