An evaluation of the book by H. Ter Heide, Binnenlandse migratie in Nederland (Internal Migration in the Netherlands, The Hague: Gov Publishing House 1965). This is a study of the internal migration in the Netherlands between 1880 and 1960. A theoretical introduction is followed by statistical evidence on the migration, with the chief geographical channels outlined. The chief fault of the book is an overnarrow concept of migration; it should have been broadened in the direction of SM. I. Langnas.
