An evaluation of 3 recent research reports on Dutch students: (1) Central Statistical Office (CBS Statistiek van het wetenschappelijk onderwijs, numeriek rendiment, mediane studieduur en studiediscipline van enige na-oorlogse studenten generaties (1948-1950) (Statistics of Scientific Education, Numerical Proportion, Median Study Duration and Study Discipline of Some Student Annual Intakes, 1948-1950; Zeist: W. de Haan, 1965); this is a study of the 1948-50 intakes of Dutch students of sci in terms of numerical proportion (ie, of those who study in that annual generation); Md study duration; and study discipline (deciles of those who continue in their studies). (2) Sociol'al Seminar of Amsterdam University: Studenten en studeren in de P. S. F. (Students and Studies of the Political Science Faculties, 1965); this is a report by J. Berting on the annual intakes of students of the Pol' al Sci Faculty of Amsterdam U, 1947-62, in terms of sociol' al variables. (3) The Macchiavelli Studies Commission: Een verslag over de studie aan de Faculteit der Sociale Wetenschappen van de Universiteit Amsterdam (A Report on a Study at the 'A' Faculty of Social Sciences of Amsterdam University, 1965); this is a survey of 119 students of this faculty (87% of the total) designed to determine the duration of their studies and the factors which affect it; most students study 25 to 30 hours a week for 8 months.
