Samenvatting

A critique of an article by A. J. Withers which presents 10 positions on theological questions. It is argued against Wichers that: (1) he ignores the fact that theological truth is of a different order from scientific truth; (2) he wrongly assumes that theological phenomena can be fully clarified by methods of cultural sociology; (3) he ignores the difference between a belief and the instit' s that grow up around it; and (4) his anti-Christian bias makes him give an interpretation of Christianity that is not even in accordance with his cultural-social'al criteria.
