Woonsatisfaktie in drie studentenhuizen

Samenvatting

A report on a survey designed to determine the causes of satisfaction with living conditions (woonsatisfactie) of students living in 3 Amsterdam student hostels (Casa Academica: 97; Weesperstraat: 63; and Westermarkt: 32). 2 alternative theories were tested by questionaires on 8 operationalized items, with the results subjected to factorial analysis: (1) a sociological-functional theory which made satisfaction depend on a number of factors; and (2) a psychological theory which posited the existence of a general satisfaction. (The 2 alternative theories have been offered by I. Gadourek.) From results presented in 4 tables, it is concluded that there is no evidence that theory (2) is correct but substantial evidence that theory (1) is. I. Langnas.
