Casa academica: een geslaagd experiment?

A report of a survey of attitudes towards the Casa Academics, a recently opened student hostel in Amsterdam, which operates as a hotel during academic vacations. Only attitudes of student-inhabitants are dealt with in a survey made in Sep-Oct 1962 of the first annual intake of students. The results are presented in 3 tables. Terminal satisfaction is measured by the wish to return to the hostel next year; this was negative in only 24%. Positive terminal satisfaction was 85% among those 'soc satisfied' (ie with the amenities), 60% among those 'moderately soc unsatisfied' and 21% among those 'strongly soc unsatisfied.' It is concluded that Casa Academica was 'largely successful' in its first year. I. Langnas.
