A report on a study designed to show the relationship between group cohesion and success in sports. 2 hyp's were tested: (1) there is a linear relation between cohesion and success; (2) there is a direct prolxirtion between changes in cohesion and success. The hyp's were tested on 13 volleyball teams which played in the 1963-64 championships of the Dutch hall Assoc. 8 components were opcrationalized, and factorial analysis were applied. A partial r was obtained between cohesion and success: .432 for the 1st hyp; .19 for the 2nd. I. Langnas.
