Hoogenwerf replies that: (1) the undefined problem has the advantage of directing the attention to the solutions; (2) Boef's comment on the ethical factor in the scale is not obvious; and (3) his comment on anomie and escalation is based on a comparison between the 2 which is not completely possible.
