Samenvatting

Looking at the programs written up by the various Dutch political parties, it is obvious that clarity is not emphasized. Political goals as stated by the different parties tend superficially to sound very similar to each other. It is not possible to determine scientifically which goals are to be preferred over others; this makes it even more essential that the political programs be stated with great clarity. It should be evident what the issues are exactly - not just that a particular party wishes to increase the ratio of teachers to students, but by how much, when, and what priority this will be given. This task is not one that can be handled well by the politicians themselves; it could be better carried out by an independent bureau, perhaps associated with some u, which would analyze all of the programs proposed by the political parties.
