Samenvatting

Two fields of study of educational sociology are discussed: internal scholastic matters and the relations between school and society. Dutch sociology emphasizes the external relations, ignoring the need for internal scholastic research. Two problems that could partially be solved by internal scholastic studies are: (1) aspects of group life among pupils, (2) the changed tasks of teachers and new interstaff relations. Sociological studies of internal scholastic concern should be grounded in concepts relevant to school life and not only related to sociology. Modified AA
