Samenvatting

About 90% of small entrepreneuers in the Netherlands are men; the remaining 10% are largely widows of deceased entrepreneurs. Although it is difficult for most Dutch women to start their own businesses, their contributions to family businesses are grossly underestimated & unappreciated. Currently, about 90% of the 82,000 family-owned small-business employees are women, compared to 44% throughout most of the 1950s. These women tend to be concentrated in retail trade jobs. M. Meeks.
