Samenvatting

Interview data were solicited from divorced F clients (N = 50) of a Dutch social services agency to determine whether the informal mutual support that the clients provided each other complimented the program of financial & nonfinancial (primarily counseling) assistance offered by the agency. The findings showed that this type of mutual aid was acceptable to & effective for most of the clients. Although not a substitute for the formal counseling offered by the agency, informal mutual counseling offered the clients both a different viewpoint & a sense of solidarity. 7 Tables, 16 References.
