A review of Hoe weet je dat? Wegen van sociaal onderzoek ([How Do You Know That? Methods of Social Research] Bouw, Carolien, Bovenkerk, Frank, Bruin, Kees, & Brunt, Lodewijk [Eds], Amsterdam: De arbeiderspers en de Wetenschappelijke Uitgeverij, 1982). Although the work addresses new problems of social research, no significantly new or meaningful suggestions are offered for the innovation of social science methodology. Specifically, issue is taken with the editors' distinctions between the traditional questionnaire survey & the newer method of perception through participation.
