Samenvatting

Described is a longitudinal psychosocial study of 1,000 homosexual Ms at risk of AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome), conducted by the gay studies department at Utrecht State U (Netherlands) in conjunction with biomedical investigators at the U of Amsterdam. A prime research concern is why only 5% of all Ms infected by the LAV/HTLV-III-Virus will develop the disease. Variables such as the f & character of blood-to-blood & sperm-to-blood contacts, network participation, depression, identity, coping behaviors, addiction, lifestyle, etc, are investigated. 56 References.
