The use of the concept of lifestyle in anthropological & sociological literature is rather vague. Focusing on a theoretical elaboration of lifestyle, the concept is analyzed by the distinction of five components: morphology, social relations, content of activities, worldview, & style. These are synthesized to form a sociological concept. Lifestyle is important because of its emphasis on the individual level; its biographical approach is complementary to subcultural & psychological approaches. 17 References. Modified HA
