Samenvatting

According to the literature, SC is one of the mediating factors in the relationship between unemployment & health. A recent empirical study in GB hypothesized that unemployment has a homogenizing effect, because the SC differences in health that exist among the general population could not be found among the unemployed. This & related hypotheses were tested in a comparative study of employed & unemployed Ms (N not given) in the Netherlands. The findings tend to refute the homogenizing hypothesis. The results are ambivalent concerning the hypothesis that the subjective experience of unemployment is the same among different SCs. 6 Tables, 20 References. Modified HA
