A description & analysis of junkiebonden, unions of opiate users in the Netherlands. Although drug users have a marginal status in the community & can hardly be organized, numbers of junkiebonden have been founded. Some have not only tried to influence city politics but have succeeded in mobilizing their constituencies. Factors are identified that determine the participation of drug users in the activities of junkiebonden. 24 References. Modified HA
