The rapid increase in research publications on ethnic minorities during the last few years in the Netherlands can be explained by national & local authorities' involvement in the development of new policies. However, experts express doubts as to the quality of the research because this research is attached to specific domains of current policy & to problems as they are formulated by the authorities.
