Samenvatting

To investigate Dutch attitudes toward affirmative action programs, telephone interview data were obtained from 702 adults in a representative national sampling. Key factors include race, political orientation, cultural anomie, contact with minorities, sex, age, & understanding of the labor market. For respondents in lower socioeconomic groups, race was the only important factor, while for those in higher groups, opinions about labor market mechanisms played a role. 1 Table, 22 References.
