Samenvatting

A discussion of whether the sociology of development is an academic discipline per se, or merely a part of the theory building in multidisciplinary studies with practical implications. Development is a long-term process of change centering on labor productivity & other areas. The necessity of a comparative approach is stressed. Overspecialization can be dysfunctional. In acquiring essential interdisciplinary knowledge, a good library is more useful than a multidisciplinary institute. 38 References. Adapted from the source document.
