Samenvatting

An earlier article, "Taboes in de Wetenschap" ([Taboos in Science] Kobber, A. J. F., NCR/Handelsblad, 4 Apr 1989) provoked considerable response from a broad range of scholars. Rebuttals are presented to the most salient criticisms. It is argued that academic freedom permits the pursuit of scientific investigations regardless of their conclusions. Special attention is given to taboos against studies whose findings are deemed racist by some critics. 1 Table, 8 References. M. Meeks
