A discussion of aspects involved in the formulation of research problems, including: (1) factors necessary to concisely formulate a problem; (2) the functions of a concise formulation; (3) how research goals & problems differ; & (4) the difference between "what is" questions, which are descriptive, & "why" questions, which are explanatory.
