Samenvatting

To investigate employment prospects among highly educated members of Dutch ethnic groups, questionnaire data were obtained from recent graduates (N = 162) in the Nijmegen area in 1989. The results indicate that for a given pool of equally qualified candidates, Dutch employers tend to prefer indigenous Dutch candidates over immigrants or their children. Moreover, men are chosen over women for all ethnic groups. The ability of educational programs to help minorities is discussed. 1 Table, 18 References. Adapted from the source document.
