Bouwbestek of luchtkasteel? De invloed van plannen en levensloopfactoren op relatievormingsgedrag

Samenvatting

Examines the relationship between stated intentions & actual behavior of Dutch young adults, drawing on interview data collected in 1987 from 1,419 Rs ages 18-26, & a follow-up study in 1989. Results show that 50% of the steadily dating couples who planned to be living together 2 years later were actually doing so. In contrast, only 10% of the couples who had not planned to live together were doing so. It can be concluded that life course factors influence cohabitation behavior both indirectly by shaping intentions, & conditionally by affecting the extent to which intentions are realized. 3 Tables, 35 References.
