Samenvatting

Explores discrimination against homosexuals in the Dutch military, based on questionnaire data obtained from 1,238 members of the various branches of the armed services in 1991. Analysis reveals that most respondents maintained a certain reservedness toward homosexuals. Further, the distance maintained from homosexuals was greater than that from minorities, which is attributed to the stereotyping of homosexuals as sexually threatening. However, the military was not found to be more antihomosexual than society in general. More research should be performed on the area of social & emotional relationships between hetero- & homosexuals. 5 Tables, 35 References. Adapted from the source document.
