Criticizes how the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research, the Netherlands' main distributor of grants for scientific & promotional research, assesses research proposals. It is argued that the organization treats some applicants in a highly unprofessional manner & has repeatedly presented proof of lack of knowledge &/or judgment skills. The recent trend toward increasing support of megaprojects implies neglect of smaller, autonomous, & more critical research, possibly resulting in centralized distribution of research grants for the "old boys network" only. Examples of deficient valuations are provided. S. Paul
