Typology of Horror. It is asserted that, since the psychological definition of compartmentalization refers to a process of disidentification with selected groups of others due to problematic experiences and emotions, it cannot be easily transferred to the conscious, bureaucratic, and political process of identification and disidentification. Regarding the relationships between dyscivilization and (Western) modernity, it is argued that modern dyscivilization is only different in scale from historical versions; problematic aspects, notably the lack of historical and theoretical meaning, of the very notion of "modernity" are also addressed.
