Caring Fatherhood. Interview data from Dutch fathers (N = 80) with children under age 12 reveal 5 main ways that Ss balance child care and professional responsibilities: (1) focus on work; (2) overactivity; (3) division of attention between job and children; (4) little or no activity; and (5) focus on children as the main responsibility. It is suggested that a combination of rational choice and gender identity approaches can lead to new insights into forms of behavior. 2 Tables, 1 Appendix, 27 References.
