Samenvatting

The Sexual Revolution of Adolescents. During the 1960s and 1970s it became accepted for adolescents in the Netherlands to have sexual relations, and the frequency of such relations increased. This cultural revolution occurred over a short time and signified the moral separation of sex from marriage and procreation, as facilitated by modern, reliable birth control. It is suggested that contraception has provided a means to bridge the gap between the relatively early onset of puberty and the age when people are prepared to assume parental responsibilities. 4 Tables, 28 References.
