Samenvatting

Some preliminary results of the study of the remains of mites extracted from samples taken during the 1987 excavation at the Martinikerkhof in Groningen are presented. An environmental reconstruction based upon one of the two samples shows a surprisingly strong maritime influence for a 14th century sample, as well as a definite urban element in the mite assemblage.
