Samenvatting

The BAI participates in joint Malinese­Dutch research in the delta of the river Niger. Aerial photographs and field surveys serve to map and classify the dwelling mounds of the people that inhabited the area at the time of the great West African realms. Erosion and treasure digging constitute serious threats to the archaeological poten­tial.
