DE VERKENNING VAN HET VROEG-MIDDELEEUWSE GRAFVELD VAN OOSTERBEINTUM (FR.)
Samenvatting
At Oosterbeintum an Early Medieval cemetery was partly excavated. Inhumation as well as cremation was practised on this site from the late 4th or early 5th century to the 7th or early 8th century. Six dogs and a horse were buried too. The traces of cremation ritual consist of the remains of a pyre, 24 urns and many pits with charcoal. The inhumation graves contained at least 47 individuals, including eight children and a dwarf.
